In the final year of high school I entered the CusMiBio Biotechnology Competition organized by UNIMI. I classed 2nd and was awarded a scholarship that covers my full university tuition.
Why I Did It
I have always been passionate about biology and biotech. Two years before the CusMiBio competition I partecipated at the international biology olympiads, but I was really disappointed by my result (3rd regional place) because anxiety and emotion got really too much in the way. I could not have a second chance the next year because I left the traditional italian school system (I will explain why in one of my blogs)
I was really sad to not be qualified for the national competition BUT...It was a necessary and incredibly valuable lesson. The CuMiBio competition offered me a second chance to apply my knowledge. And it was more than worth it.
